Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into a family of mixed blood. She has a mother who is English while her father is Nigerian. Her family was raised on an estate in South London community estate, and at the age of fourteen, she attended The Brit School. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned the BA in acting. While at the school, she was a part-time actor in several performances on stage, such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career with the film Storm Damage. Since then, she has made guest appearances for Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film role was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. In the wake of that film's success she was cast as Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as appearing in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. In 2008, she was cast as Bambi who was the leading character in ITV2's comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was a star in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. She has performed in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, composed by David Watson.
Madekwe debuted in the US by presenting The Beautiful Life. The drama program aired on The CW for only two episodes before being ended. She was cast in February 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe was a regular in the drama series of Revenge on ABC during two seasons. In May 2013 that she'd quit the show after completing a guest episode in the very first series of the 3rd. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred in the role of Tituba on the show Salem. Her long-time friend, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. Together, they worked in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast alongside Madekwe on Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress who was raised in the large family. She was born to Patty and Roy Leggat. Her parents Roy and Patty and her four brothers, Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's siblings, who are all athletic, played baseball in summers and played hockey in the winter months. Ashley couldn't walk, however she danced. This led to the fact that when she turned 2, she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing shortly after she joined the Baby Ballet. Ashley continued to perform competitively until her high-school graduation at the top levels of competitions, such as tap, Jazz, Ballet Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and much more. The important dance competitions, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which have awarded her the distinction of "top individualist".
